LEHMANN MAUPIN GALLERY – Hong Kong, China
21 May to 20 July, 2013

Curated by Hervé Mikaeloff, Lehmann Maupin’s second Hong Kong show opening on 21th May 2013 will explore the diverse ways in which Eastern and Western artists utilize writing and language in their work – traces, imprint, signs and calligraphy. The exhibition will address how written language can be a central question in the relationships between different cultures and civilisations, and how artists across the world play with alphabets, characters, words and phrases. Featured artists will include Tracey Emin, Teresita Fernández, Shirazeh Houshiary, Robin Rhode, Eko Neguro, Idris Khan, Barbara Kruger, He An, Zheng Guogu, and Hong Kong artists Pak Sheung Chuen (Tozer Pak) and Tsang Kin Wah.
