Hajime Tamura was born in 1973 in Akita. After receiving M.A. from Waseda University, he started working as a ceramic artist in Tokyo. He worked in Mashiko, Tochigi since 2002, and in Akita since 2011. He has had many solo exhibitions in Japan, including Gallery Mukuri (Tokyo, 2004- ), Koko Laboratory (Akita, 2008- ), graf (Osaka, 2008 and 2011), Utsuwa Ku (Hyogo, 2009 and 2011) and PLAIN PEOPLE (Tokyo, 2010 and 2012). Tamura started a collaboration work with a comic “Heugemono” by Yoshihiro Yamada since 2009, as well as participating in “IKEYAN☆”, the young ceramic artist group since 2010. This is his first solo exhibition with TKG Ceramic, Tomio Koyama Gallery Kyoto.
