Andrei Hedstrom

Born and raised in California in the United States, Andrei Hedstrom has degrees in religious studies and counseling psychology. Until recently he lived and worked for many years in San Francisco. He now lives with his family in Ferndale California, a small village in the Redwood Forests of Northern California. He is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War.

Andrei is primarily a self-taught artist who has used painting and drawing as a form of meditation, reflection and prayer for many years.  In recent years, his artistic goals have turned outward and his desire to uplift others through his large and colorful work has become a driving force to enter the mainstream art world.

In addition, sharing his work with others, he has specific goals related to collaboration with other artists as a way to build artistic community and do “good things” through benefit auctions and art activism.  Andrei believes that artists have an opportunity to share the fruits of living what he calls the “Art Life” with others.  “The creative energy and openness that comes from making art and building community through art has much to lend the world of business, politics and society in general.”

Andrei is also the CEO of SweetRush, an organization that uses multimedia, technology, adult learning and performance improvement strategies to help organizations with their challenges.  SweetRush has several focuses, one that Andrei is most passionate about is SweetRush’s work assisting global corporations with their corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives.

Andrei has past and upcoming solo or group shows at Piante Gallery and the Morris Graves Museum in Eurkea CA, Studio Quercus in the San Francisco Bay Area and Juxtapoz-esc Blackfaun Gallery.
