Born in Grodno in 1932. He studied at Cracow’s Arts Academy. Since 1965 he has run Wood Engraving Division at Poznan’s Arts Academy and in 1996-2005 at Cracow’s Academy at the same time. He is a member of International Graphics Association in Cracow. He used to be a member of International Association of Wood Engravers Xylon in Switzerland. From 1985 to 1991 he was an organiser of International Graphics Biennale and then Trinnale in Cracow. He was also a chairman of jury during many exhibitions in Poland as well as abroad. For his artistic and pedagogic activity he was awarded with a Gold Order of Merit, National Education’s Commision’s Medal and the Order of Poland Reborn.
