Elzbieta Banecka (born in 1965) graduated from the Academy Of Fine
Arts in Warsaw in 1991 with painting specialization and a graphics annex
under the supervision of Prof. Jan Tarasin and Prof. Rafal Strent, respectively. She has been teaching design graphics and printmaking for several years. She is a juror and co-organizer of the International Book Art Festival, and a juror of “Hestia” contest, which awards student registration books of the Academy Of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Many exhibitions of national as well as international character take place under her supervision. She has won 48 prestigious awards - polish and international - and such honours as a Bronze Medal at the Triennial in Osaka, Japan 1991, Grand Prix at the Art Triennial in Majdanek 2004(awarded by the Ministry of Culture), 1st Prize at the Festival of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 2006. She used to cooperate with Polskie Radio designing many well-known music albums. Since 2003 she has been
cooperating with Guliwer Theatre for children, for which has she designed
a new logo, catalogues, bills and programmes. She has also designed many art catalogues (in 2007 she recieved several awards and honours for MFSK Book project), bills (among others for Wierszalin theatre). She has had over 30 solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad and has taken part in over 200 group exhibitions from all over the
world. She is active as a printmaker, graphic designer. At present she
works in artistic design and art books. Her works are in museums and private collections in Poland and abroad.
