Guggenheim Museum New York, NY, USA Until 29 August 2017 Guggenheim Offers Extended Evening Hours and Special Programs on Summer Tuesdays The summer schedule kicked off on 20 June and will run until 29 August with host programs including a Weekly Conversation Series, the Summer of Know. In addition to having increased access to exhibitions, visitors are invited to attend a weekly conversation series called the Summer of Know, as well as films, discussions, performances, and other programs. Refreshments and specialty cocktails will be available for purchase on the Rotunda Floor and in Cafe 3. Summer exhibitions include Visionaries: Creating a Modern Guggenheim (through September 6); Doug Wheeler: PSAD Synthetic Desert III (through August 2); the Hugo Boss Prize 2016: Anicka Yi, Life Is Cheap (through July 5); Maurizio Cattelan: “America” (ongoing); and Mystical Symbolism: The Salon de la Rose+Croix in Paris, 1892–1897 (opening June 30). The Guggenheim Store will remain open until 9:30 pm on these evenings. Summer of Know is a weekly conversation series that pairs contemporary artists who think deeply about urgent social, political, environmental, or legal challenges facing our world today, with individuals who tackle those issues from outside of the cultural sphere. Moderated or introduced by Guggenheim curators, these informal discussions engage with current issues as they are filtered through the generative lens of art. Conversations take place in Cafe 3, starting at 6:30 pm on Tuesdays which began on June 20. In August a selection of films, including shorts, animated productions, and feature-length presentations, will be screened every Tuesday at 6 pm in the New Media Theater. Screenings take place in the New Media Theater, Lower Level, and are free with admission. Full information on films and Summer Tuesday programs will be available at guggenheim.org/summer.
